Support for College Algebra

 

This course covers the underlying algebra skills and concepts, along with mathematical problem solving and study skills that promote or are needed for success in College Algebra. Concurrent enrollment in specified sections of MATH C115 is required.

 

Credits: 2.0

Transferability Requirement

This course is a basic skills support course and is not degree applicable.

 

How Do I Register?
  1. Review the available prerequisite courses
  2. Apply to Coastline College
  3. Submit Ben U Eligibility Certification Form to CorporateReg@Coastline.edu or fax it to 714-241-6270.
  4. Register into an approved Ben U General Ed course in MyCoast.
  5. Submit appropriate supporting documentation to Coastline if registering into Critical Reasoning or any Math course.

 

WARNING: This course may require a proctor for certain exams. It is your responsibility to arrange for exam proctors as necessary. Libraries and other institutions may offer free exam proctor services in your area, but if you choose to pay for proctor services out-of-pocket, those fees are not covered by BHMT.

 

PLEASE NOTE: BHMT will use your available KP tuition reimbursement funds for eligible tuition, fees and materials expenses. If available tuition reimbursement funds are not sufficient to cover expenses, BHMT will cover the remainder at no cost to you.

  • You must have completed your probationary period.
  • You must be a BHMT eligible part-time or full-time KP benefited employee.
  • Open to HI, CA, WA, CO, and VA residents.

  • COREQUISITE: MATH C115-College Algebra
  • Concurrent enrollment into MATH C115-College Algebra is required

Unsuccessful Course Completion and Dropped Class Policy

Ben U programs require your time and effort on a consistent basis as well as communicating with the course instructor, tutor, or BHMT Career Development Coach if you are having difficulties or conflicts. Should you not complete your program successfully with a ‘C’ or better, pass, or drop the course by the institution’s 1st drop date, your participation in Trust programs may be suspended for a period of twelve months.
