College Success Seminar

 

Ocean County College, through the Ben Hudnall Memorial Trust, is offering a course on how to succeed in college: College Success Seminar (STSC-155). The course, offered 100% online, will assist students in building a solid foundation for a successful college experience through development of critical thinking, information literacy, interpersonal communication, communication in an academic environment, and resource acquisition. STSC 155 is designed to meet three critical needs:

 

  • Engage the student in learning opportunities, both in and out of the virtual classroom
  • Develop the appreciation of critical thought among all disciplines
  • Improve the student/faculty interactions at Ocean County College

 

Academic Success
Students who complete STSC 155 are more likely to:

 

  • Graduate
  • Have higher GPAs
  • Form connections and relationships with classmates
  • Be more engaged and effective learners
  • Have better attitude toward higher education

  • You must be a BHMT-eligible employee with “active” KP employment status.
  • You must have completed your probationary period.
  • You must be a regular, benefited full-time or part-time employee – typically working 20 hours or more per week.
  • Open to all regions.

Student Agreement

This program and participation is governed by the terms of the BHMT Student Agreement. Please take a few moments to familiarize yourself with the student agreement; by registering and participating in this program you are agreeing to comply with it.

 

Unsuccessful Course Completion and Dropped Class Policy

Ben U programs require your time and effort on a consistent basis as well as communicating with the course instructor, tutor, or BHMT Career Counselor if you are having difficulties or conflicts. Should you not complete your program successfully with a ‘C’ or better, pass, or drop the course by the institution’s 1st drop date, your participation in Trust programs may be suspended for a period of twelve months.
