Western Civilization 2

 

A survey of the development of present day Western society from 1550 to the present. Course will emphasize the cultural, and socio-economic changes wrought by the Reformation, the Enlightenment, the Scientific Revolution, industrialization, and imperialism. It will also trace the political evolution of the West by examining a variety of political trends, including liberalism, nationalism, socialism, communism, and fascism.

 

Credits: 3.0

Transferability Requirement

BHMT participants are responsible for making sure selected course(s) will transfer to the accepting institution.

 

How Do I Enroll?
  1. Review the available prerequisite courses
  2. Apply to Coastline College
  3. Submit Ben U Eligibility Certification Form to CorporateReg@Coastline.edu or fax it to 714-241-6270.
  4. Coastline will email you confirmation once you are approved, which will include instructions on how to enroll.
  5. Submit appropriate supporting documentation to Coastline if registering to meet ENGLC102 (Critical Reasoning) and Math prerequisites.

PLEASE NOTE: BHMT will use your available KP tuition reimbursement funds for eligible tuition, fees and materials expenses. If available tuition reimbursement funds are not sufficient to cover expenses, BHMT will cover the remainder at no cost to you.

  • You must be a BHMT eligible part-time or full-time KP benefited employee.

This program and participation is governed by the terms of the BHMT Student Agreement. Please take a few moments to familiarize yourself with the student agreement; by registering and participating in this program you are agreeing to comply with it.

 

Unsuccessful Course Completion and Dropped Class Policy

Ben U programs require your time and effort on a consistent basis as well as communicating with the course instructor, tutor, or BHMT Career Development Coach if you are having difficulties or conflicts. Should you not complete your program successfully with a ‘C’ or better, pass, or drop the course by the institution’s 1st drop date, your participation in Trust programs may be suspended for a period of twelve months.
