To be an effective clinical trainer, an individual needs to be an instructor as well as a leader, understand adult learning techniques and strategies, welcome diversity amongst trainees, and employ communication strategies that foster success.

 

The Allied Health Clinical Trainer Program is designed for Allied Health Professionals to become confident and effective trainers. This self-paced educational program is presented in a blended learning format that includes both reading and presentation modules. The online format allows for flexibility with regard to individual schedules, workloads, and personal commitments.

 

Program Features:

  • FREE for a BHMT-eligible employee with “active” KP employment status.
  • Self-Paced online program available 24/7
  • Topics include: Pedagogy and the Role of the Clinical Trainer, Evaluation Technique and Rubric Usage, Diversity and Culture, and Communication and Leadership
  • Introduces clinical trainers to the techniques, tools, and knowledge that they need to become experts in their field
  • Provides real-world examples and scenarios to immerse new clinical trainers in the kinds of situations that they will be expected to handle once they begin training others
  • Cultivates trainers that are sensitive to diversity and able to respond appropriately to learners with distinctive needs and challenges
How Do I Register?

Enrollment is simple, eligible BHMT participants who would like to take this course can enroll by:

 

  1. Click on Register button below to visit the online portal.
  2. Type in your NUID and password. Please note: For first time users, your initial password is “BHMT”. Once you log in, you will be prompted to change your password.
  3. Launch the “Allied Health Clinical Trainer Skills Course”.

  • You must have completed your probationary period.
  • You must be a regular, benefited full-time or part-time employee –typically working 20 hours or more per week.
