Apprenticeships

Overview

Apprenticeship training programs combine job-related education with structured on-the-job, instruction-based learning. In an apprenticeship program you will gain skills and in-depth industry knowledge through paid on-the-job training in your chosen career field.

BHMT supports the following apprenticeship programs:

Interventional Radiologic Technologist (IR) Apprenticeship Program

The Interventional Radiologic Technologist (IR) Apprenticeship Program provides an opportunity for participants to perform routine and highly specialized diagnostic and therapeutic IR procedures under supervision of a preceptor. Apprentices will learn how to follow established parameters/protocols for use by physicians in diagnosis and treatment of pathologies and assist in ensuring a smooth operational flow and maximum patient volume.

Sterile Processing Technician Apprenticeship Program

Sterile Processing Technicians play a critical role in preventing infections by sterilizing, cleaning, processing, assembling, storing, and distributing medical supplies. Apprentices will receive 10-weeks of education and 1,000-hours of on-the-job training.
