Preparatory Chemistry
A one-semester laboratory course designed for those who have not had a high-school science background or for those who have graduated from high school ten or more years ago. This course may be especially useful for those students preparing to enter the para-medical training programs or those wishing to prepare for college chemistry. The following are covered in this course: measurement, matter and energy, elements and compounds, atomic structure, periodic law, nomenclature, equation-writing, stoichiometrics, pneumatics, solutions, acids, bases, salts, and oxidation-reduction.
Credits: 4 units
Transferability Requirement
BHMT participants are responsible for making sure selected course(s) will transfer to the accepting institution.
How Do I Register?
WARNING: If you are already enrolled in a Lab Science class, you will not be able to enroll in additional Lab Science courses.

- For returning students, enter your log in information to sign in.
PLEASE NOTE: BHMT will use your available KP tuition reimbursement funds for eligible tuition, fees and materials expenses. If available tuition reimbursement funds are not sufficient to cover expenses, BHMT will cover the remainder at no cost to you.

- You must be a KP Union Alliance or Coalition Employee with “active” KP employment status.
- You must have completed your probationary period.
- You must be a benefited employee typically working 20 or more hours per week.
- Open to all regions.
- Highly recommended high school algebra or MATH-011.
- Have computer access with internet
