Ambulatory Care RN Residency Program

The Ambulatory Care RN Residency Program is designed to train new grads and transitioning RNs how to effectively meet the challenges of the transforming ambulatory care setting. This multi-regional training program is designed to be flexible, allowing instructors to design and teach a cohort of participants. The content was made possible through collaboration with the National Nurse Leadership Council. There are three components to the training: online modules through Ben Hudnall Memorial Trust (BHMT), supplemental classroom material provided by the KP Region or medical facility education staff, and competency training through HealthStream. Also available online through BHMT is a preceptor training program. This can be accessed to strengthen the training skills of nurse preceptors and validators.

• No cost for KP Union Alliance or Coalition Employee with “active” KP employment status.
• Self-Paced online program available 24/7
• Blended learning program: Online modules presented through BHMT, nurse educator’s supplement with instructor led program, competencies accessed through HealthStream, and facilitator guide included
• E-modules include: Program Introduction, Nursing Roles and Values, Communication, Professional Topics and Situational Awareness
• Instructor Playbook to help guide participants through the program
• Instructor Classroom Decks to reinforce the learning objectives

Enrollment is simple, using Chrome or Internet Explorer browser, eligible BHMT participants who would like to take this course, please:

1. Click on Register button below.
2. Check your NUID to make sure you are BHMT-eligible.
3. Approve the BHMT Student Agreement.
4. Use KP single sign-on to launch the “Ambulatory Care RN Residency Program” (your NUID and password)
