U.S. History to 1876

 

A comprehensive examination of the history of the United States from the beginnings of exploration to the end of reconstruction after the Civil War. It covers the political, economic, diplomatic, social, and cultural aspects of American life during this time span. This course fulfills the UC and CSU requirements for the BA degree and is transferable to all state institutions of higher learning.

 

Credits: 3.0

Transferability Requirement

BHMT participants are responsible for making sure selected course(s) will transfer to the accepting institution.

 

How Do I Register?
  1. Review the available prerequisite courses
  2. Apply to Coastline College
  3. Submit Ben U Eligibility Certification Form to CorporateReg@Coastline.edu or fax it to 714-241-6270.
  4. Register into an approved Ben U General Ed course in MyCoast.
  5. Submit appropriate supporting documentation to Coastline if registering into English or any Math course.

 

PLEASE NOTE: BHMT will use your available KP tuition reimbursement funds for eligible tuition, fees and materials expenses. If available tuition reimbursement funds are not sufficient to cover expenses, BHMT will cover the remainder at no cost to you.

  • You must have completed your probationary period.
  • You must be a BHMT eligible part-time or full-time KP benefited employee.
  • Open to HI, CA, WA, CO, and VA residents.

This program and participation is governed by the terms of the BHMT Student Agreement. Please take a few moments to familiarize yourself with the student agreement; by registering and participating in this program you are agreeing to comply with it.

 

Unsuccessful Course Completion and Dropped Class Policy

Ben U programs require your time and effort on a consistent basis as well as communicating with the course instructor, tutor, or BHMT Career Development Coach if you are having difficulties or conflicts. Should you not complete your program successfully with a ‘C’ or better, pass, or drop the course by the institution’s 1st drop date, your participation in Trust programs may be suspended for a period of twelve months.
