Earning your Masters degree at Post University | American Sentinel College of Nursing & Health Sciences is more than a way to advance your career, it’s an opportunity for you to shine. We offer an RN to BSN/MSN, MSN with seven specializations, MBA Healthcare and an MSN/MBA Healthcare dual degree.Develop expertise in an area that interests you. 98% of our students work in healthcare while going to school, so we built our programs to be flexible. We understand that everyone learns different, so we have two paths to your selected degree: traditional term-based or Powered by SIMPath®.

Program Highlights

 

Delivery Type

  • Traditional Term-Based – Online courses are only 8 weeks long and start every month.
  • Powered by SIMPath®  – Complete online courses at your own pace within a 16-week semester. You’ll utilize digital simulations to make learning more interactive and then showcase your learnings through multiple mediums such as PowerPoint presentations or videos. In place of discussion posts, you’ll attend a weekly call or view the recording of it. You can complete as many courses during the semester as your schedule allows. There are no due dates – although all projects need to be submitted by the end of the 16-week semester. Powered by SIMPath® is for a self-disciplined learner who’s comfortable with technology.

  • M.S. Nursing is available in CA, CO, GA, HI, MD, VA
  • Family Nurse Practitioner and Adult Gerontology Nurse Practitioner specializations are available in CA, CO, GA, HI, MD, VA
  • No programs are currently available in Washington.

Registration

  • Monthly start dates are available for both term-based and Powered by SIMPath®.

Length of Term

  • Traditional Term-Based – 8-week classes that start monthly. Take one course at a time or overlap them to move through the program faster.
  • Powered by SIMPath® – Take as many courses as your schedule allows per 16-week semester.

  • Traditional Term Based – Completion time varies based upon program selection. Some programs can be completed in as few as two years.
  • Powered by SIMPath® – Some students can complete some Powered by SIMPath® program in as few as three 16-week semesters – making some programs less than two years.

Program Details

Affordability
  • Post University | American Sentinel College of Nursing & Health Sciences has collaborated with BHMT to offer you a discounted tuition rate:
    • Traditional Term-Based – $438/credit hour*
    • Powered by SIMPath® $3,200/16-week semester
  • BHMT will pay a maximum of $5250 (combined KP Tuition Reimbursement funding and BHMT funding) per calendar year (January through December) directly to American Sentinel on your behalf. BHMT will recover your KP tuition reimbursement eligible expenses to the maximum available. You will be responsible for costs exceeding the $5250 calendar year maximum.
  • Students are issued a book voucher for purchase of required textbooks. Students will receive instructions for purchasing textbooks via email after registering for courses. BHMT requires purchase of eBooks unless not available. All other non-required textbooks are the responsibility of the student.
  • Book voucher costs billed to BHMT will be deducted from student’s annual $5250 funding allotment.
  • Students are responsible for certain fees out of pocket. BHMT will only reimburse for:
    • Shadow Health Clinical Software
    • CastleBranch Background Check
    • APEA Exam
    • APEA issued exam preparation question bank

    All other fees are the responsibility of the student. Please complete the highlighted portions of the Reimbursement Request form and send to bhmt@kp.org along with payment receipts. The subject line of the email should read “Post U Reimbursement Request”. Payment processing can take 2-3 weeks.

  • Residents of California may be responsible for the Student Tuition Recovery Fund (STRF) if this charge exceeds the annual $5,250 tuition cap. The STRF is a fund administered by the California Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education that relieves or mitigates economic loss suffered by a student while enrolled in a qualifying institution. The STRF assessment rate is two dollars and fifty cents ($2.50) per one thousand dollars ($1,000) of institutional charges.

 

*Nurse Practitioner: $438 – MSN Core Courses; $460 – MSN Nurse Practitioner Role and Population Focused Courses.

BHMT Program Requirements
6 Month Check-in
  • Meet with your BHMT Academic Success Coach twice a year to discuss your academic experience, and to explore the support resources BHMT has to offer.
Successful Course Completion
  • For continued success in BHMT programs you need to receive a passing grade of C or better for each course you complete. This ensures you comply with the BHMT Academic Suspension policy you agreed to as part of the BHMT Student Agreement. For more information about the suspension process, refer to the BHMT Student Agreement.
BHMT Student Agreement
  • This program and participation is governed by the terms of the BHMT Student Agreement. Please take a few moments to familiarize yourself with the student agreement; by registering and participating in this program you are agreeing to comply with it.
