Who We Are

Mission Statement

The Ben Hudnall Memorial Trust’s mission is to provide equitable opportunities to engage in personal career management empowering individual learning, growth, and development.

Overview

During the 2005 National Bargaining, Kaiser Permanente and the Coalition agreed that in order to adapt to the rapidly changing healthcare environment, innovative investments in partnerships, people and technologies would be required.

Not only were tuition reimbursement and educational leave policies enhanced but a new educational training trust was established with the goal of creating a culture that values and invests in lifelong learning and enhanced career development opportunities for represented employees.

The Ben Hudnall Memorial Trust currently provides a portfolio of diverse programs and services to support our eligible Alliance and Coalition represented beneficiaries. BHMT works closely with Kaiser Permanente’s National Workforce Planning and Development Department and its Regional counterparts to constantly adapt and expand our offerings to meet the needs of both our management and labor union partners – as well as those of the individual participant.

We are dedicated to support your lifelong learning and career development. In partnership we look forward to assisting you in defining and reaching your career goals at Kaiser Permanente!

Diversity, Equity, and Belonging

At BHMT, diversity, equity, and belonging are at the heart of our Mission, Guiding Principles, and growth strategy. We believe that having teams of varying backgrounds, ideas, and points of view on behalf of our clients, partners, and stakeholders is a vital part of our organization’s success. Our commitment to an inclusive workforce is embedded in our hiring practices and vendor selection process. We design our programs, processes, and practices to engage those with a passion for transforming lives through life-long learning, including but not limited to race, color, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, national origin, age, genetic information, physical or mental disability, veteran status, socio-economic status, language, family, or marital status.

Our Guiding Principles

As an organization, every member of the BHMT team is defined by eight guiding principles that support the Trust’s mission. By following these guiding principles with all BHMT team members, clients and partner organizations, we are fulfilling our commitment to ensure that our clients have the opportunity to grow and nurture their career goals. We make the difference!
