Skin and Wound Care Management
We offer onsite and online courses in skin, wound, diabetic wound, and ostomy management. Courses are based on current standards of care and evidence-based research. They are designed for people who are passionate about wound care, who want to be legally defensible at bedside, and are preparing for the National Alliance of Wound Care and Ostomy (NAWCO) Board exams. Courses are interprofessional with a team approach to care for wound, diabetic, and ostomy patients across many disciplines.
Wound Care Certified
Skin and Wound Care Management
This course offers an evidence-based approach to wound management with current standards of care practices to keep clinicians legally defensible at bedside.
Ostomy Management
This course will take you through the anatomy and physiology of the systems involved in fecal/urinary diversions. The course includes hands-on skills training workshops and online pre-course modules.
Diabetic Wound Management
This course takes you through the science of the disease process and covers the unique needs of a diabetic patient.

Admission Requirements
For NAWCO WCC® & NWCC® Certification
For participants interested in Wound Care Certification, additional requirements must be met to sit for the certification exam which includes all of the following:
- Active unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse, Nurse Practitioner, Registered Dietitian, Physical Therapist, Physical Therapist Assistant, Occupational Therapist, Occupational Therapist Assistant, Physician or Physician’s Assistant.
- Successful graduate of the WCEI Skin and Wound Management course.
- Must meet one of the following options:
- Documentation of active involvement in the care of wound care patients or in management, education or research directly related to wound care while actively licensed for at least 2-years full-time/4-years part-time within the past five years. Please note: Candidate’s wound care experience must be a component of daily licensed job duties. This includes experience from such care settings as Acute Care, Long Term Care, Home Health, etc.
- For Registered Dietitians, must have practiced for 1-year full-time or 2-years part-time
OR - Complete a minimum of 120-hours of hands-on clinical training with an NAWCO approved clinical preceptor after completion of “Skin and Wound Management Certification Training Course”.
- Completion of application and required supporting documentation.
- Receive passing score of 70% or greater on the WCC exam. Receive a passing score of 85% or greater on the NWCC exam.
- For Qualified candidates, a proctored paper and pencil examination is available onsite following our Skin and Wound Care Training Course.
- Computerized versions of the examination are administered at computer-based testing facilities managed by LaserGrade/PSI Computer Testing.

BHMT Program Requirements
You must be a KP Union Alliance or Coalition Employee with “active” KP employment status. You must have completed your probationary period. You must be a benefited employee typically working 20 or more hours per week. Must be a BHMT eligible participant. Must understand and agree with the BHMT Beneficiary Agreement for Participants in Ben Hudnall Memorial Trust Programs.

WCEI is here to help you succeed! If you don’t pass your credentialing exam after completing one of their courses, they’ll provide you with six months of free access to another course. Email a copy of your exam results within 30 days of receiving them to coursesupport@relias.com to discuss your options.

During the registration process eligibility is checked, if you are not eligible the vendor will notify you.
All of your account information is available on your account dashboard. To locate your certificate of completion, follow these steps:
Log into your user account using your email address and password.
Certificates of completion are found under the respective areas Completed Training (Courses) or Completed Webinars. If the certificate is not available, contact the admissions department by emailing info@wcei.net or calling 877-462-9234.
