Wage Replacement

Wage Replacement benefit

At BHMT, we understand it can be difficult to find time to further your career though a college degree. If you’re eligible for BHMT benefits and earning a degree, academic certificate, or attending a qualified training program, you may qualify for Wage Replacement.

With your manager’s approval, you can use up to 16 hours per pay period to study and attend classes without losing income. Wage Replacement benefits give you the time you need to be successful. If you think college is out of reach because you have no time left in the day after work, family and community obligations, Wage Replacement may be the answer.

Key benefits

When you reduce your regular KP worked hours to focus on class work or study, BHMT pays you for that reduced time so you can successfully complete your program without losing income. With your manager’s approval, you can use 1 to 16 hours of wage replacement each pay period. Talk with your manager to coordinate schedules and to approve time off work. Focus on your career development, and BHMT will support you every step of the way.

Why Wage Replacement matters

  • Supports your education and career growth
  • Invests in your future
  • Eases financial stress

Example

  • Alex is a registered nurse working toward a BSN degree. Through the wage replacement benefit, Alex receives 8 hours of wage replacement per pay period to attend classes and complete assignments. This support allows Alex to continue working while advancing his career.
