MOS Certification

The Ben Hudnall Memorial Trust (BHMT) has partnered with New Horizons Computer Learning Centers to provide FREE Microsoft Office Specialist Certification exams and test preparation. A Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) certification can help validate competence in using Microsoft Office.

Members of a BHMT bargaining unit can access 3 levels of MOS Certification exams in Access, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, or Word in versions 2010 or 2013:

Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS)
– Recognition of core skills in Office applications

Show that you have the skills needed to get the most out of Microsoft Office by earning a MOS certification in a specific Office program (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Access). If you are pursuing the higher level certifications, a MOS certification is a great entry point.

Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) Expert
– Recognition of advanced skills in Word and Excel

Establish that you have advanced skills in key Office programs. To earn a MOS Expert certification, you must pass level 2 certifications exam in both Word and Excel.

Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) Master
– Recognition of mastery across Office applications

Demonstrate that you have the deepest level of skills needed to proficiently use Office programs by earning a Microsoft Office Specialist Master certification. Obtain your MOS in Outlook, PowerPoint, and Access and your MOS Expert in Word and Excel.
