Express Training Solutions – IV Certification Program

Express Training Solutions-IV Therapy/Blood Withdrawal Certification Program


Students will learn by lecture as well as clinical/hands-on experience. Topics will include but are not limited to:


  • Legal aspects
  • Universal precautions
  • Indications for IV therapy and blood withdrawal
  • Infection control
  • Psychological preparation of the patient


Students are required to successfully demonstrate IV insertions and blood withdrawal skills on other students or a designated proxy. Students may bring a proxy in their place during the clinical portion if they do not want to have IV insertion and blood withdrawals performed on them.

Who Should Enroll?

The class is open to all LVN II Staff in the San Diego County area. The class is approved and governed by the California Board of Vocational Nurses and Psychiatric Technicians (BVNPT). The IV Therapy and Blood Withdrawal Course provides training and certification to LVNs wanting to expand their scope of practice. The 36-hour course is offered in either (4) consecutive 9-hour days or (3) consecutive 12-hour days.

This program and participation is governed by the terms of the BHMT Student Agreement. Please take a few moments to familiarize yourself with the student agreement; by registering and participating in this program you are agreeing to comply with it.



Unsuccessful Course Completion and Dropped Class Policy

Ben U programs require your time and effort on a consistent basis as well as communicating with the course instructor, tutor, or BHMT Career Counselor if you are having difficulties or conflicts. Should you not complete your program successfully with a ‘C’ or better, pass, or drop the course by the institution’s 1st drop date, your participation in Trust programs may be suspended for a period of twelve months.
