English Basic Skills

 

Students will review the basics of grammar and academic reading and writing through activities, reading assignments, and short writing assignments. Concurrent enrollment in specified sections of English C100 is required.

 

Credits: 1.0

Transferability Requirement

This course is a basic skills support course and is not degree applicable.
 

How Do I Register?
  1. Review the available prerequisite courses
  2. Apply to Coastline Community College
  3. Submit Ben U Eligibility Certification Form to CorporateReg@Coastline.edu or fax it to 714-241-6270.
  4. Register into an approved Ben U General Ed course in MyCCC
  5. Submit appropriate supporting documentation to Coastline if registering into Critical Reasoning or any Math course.

  • You must be a KP Union Alliance or Coalition Employee with “active” KP employment status.
  • You must have completed your probationary period.
  • You must be a benefited employee typically working 20 or more hours per week.
  • Open to all regions.

  • COREQUISITE: ENGL C100-Freshman Composition
  • Concurrent enrollment into ENGL C100-Freshman Composition is required

Unsuccessful Course Completion and Dropped Class Policy

Ben U programs require your time and effort on a consistent basis as well as communicating with the course instructor, tutor, or BHMT Career Counselor if you are having difficulties or conflicts. Should you not complete your program successfully with a ‘C’ or better, pass, or drop the course by the institution’s 1st drop date, your participation in Trust programs may be suspended for a period of twelve months.
