PHIL C115 Logic and Critical Thinking

This course introduces logic and critical thinking. It covers persuasion, argument, semantic and logical consistency, and the accurate use of language, both meaning and structure. It evaluates the effects of advertising, politics, religion, and the news media. The course also explores the gulf between reasoning in theory and in practice. Students critically evaluate world philosophies, religions, cultural influences, and history, and analyze deductive and inductive proofs through categorical and sentential logic.

PLEASE NOTE: BHMT will use your available KP tuition reimbursement funds for eligible tuition, fees and materials expenses. If available tuition reimbursement funds are not sufficient to cover expenses, BHMT will cover the remainder at no cost to you.

Review the available prerequisite courses. Choose the Register button. Enter your NUID to confirm your eligibility. Read and approve the BHMT Beneficiary Agreement. On the BHMT Apply & Enroll page, choose General Ed Courses. Complete and submit the Coastline Eligibility Form. Apply to Coastline College making sure to select Corporate Education Program Register into an approved General Ed course in MyCoast. Submit appropriate supporting documentation to Coastline if registering into Critical Reasoning or any Math course. Click here for an enrollment guide.

College courses require your time and effort on a consistent basis as well as communicating with the course instructor, tutor, or BHMT Career Development Coach if you are having difficulties or conflicts. Should you not complete your program successfully with a ‘C’ or better, pass, or drop the course by the institution’s 1st drop date, your participation in Trust programs may be suspended for a period of twelve months.
